(Washington, D.C.) Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach), introduced a congressional resolution today honoring The Festival of Children charity. The Festival, which occurs for the entire month of September, allows for all of Orange County's children's charities to gather under one roof at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California and share each other's resources. Rohrabacher's resolution commends The Festival of Children for bringing together so many different charities, and thereby concentrating their effectiveness. The resolution also expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that September be designated "Children's Awareness Month."
"The Festival of Children provides a model for communities all across the country to follow. Instead of having to operate independently, all of Orange County's charities can pool their talents, and magnify the salutary effect that they're already having on our community in Southern California," Rohrabacher said. "The Festival of Children's good work has raised its profile, and now even Washington, D.C., is taking notice."
Rohrabacher also praised Sandy Segerstrom Daniels' commitment to the success of the Festival of Children Foundation. "It was Sandy's vision that enabled the Festival to thrive." Ms. Daniels is the founder of The Festival of Children.
