Rohrabacher to Hold Earthquake Detection Panel at UCI

IRVINE, CA – Rep. Dana Rohrabacher on Monday, Aug. 11, will co-host a scientific roundtable on earthquake detection at the University of California, Irvine. The event comes following the California Republican’s introduction recently of a bill to strengthen tsunami detection.

The event, “Innovation and Investment in Earthquake Safety,” will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at UCI’s Calit2 Auditorium, and will feature noted earthquake expert Dr. Lucy Jones and Caltech professor Thomas Heaton. Additional panelists include Prof. David Jackson (UCLA), Dr. Andrea Donnellan (JPL), Paul Conway (CoreFirst) and Prof. Lisa Grant Ludwig (UCI), who will also act as moderator.

Vice Chancellor for Research John C. Hemminger will introduce Rep. Rohrabacher.
