After nearly eight long months, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals finally released its decision in the Ramos and Compean case. Unfortunately, the Court upheld the major convictions against the border agents effectively leaving their lengthy, decade long prison terms in place.
Washington, Jul 17, 2008 - A year ago today, on July 17, 2007, the United States Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings concerning the plight of Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean. At the conclusion of the hearing Senators Feinstein (D-CA) and Cornyn (R-TX), called on President Bush to immediately commute the sentences of the two agents.

On January 30, 1908, an asteroid or comet roughly the length of half a football field exploded over a remote region in Siberia. The explosion flattened over 80 million trees and decimated over 2,000 square kilometers.
